I was transfixed by the performance by the woman with the staff that had a set of four wicks on each end of the staff. Anybody know who I'm talking about? Or her story? Amazing performance.

Re: 8-Pointed Staff
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 10:32 PMthats been one of the main highlights ive been including in the stories. That was hands down one of the coolest fireshows ive ever seen, coming from a fire geek too. the effect she got from just twisting the staff longwise was such a trip!
if anybody has that info i would like to know as well -

Tue, May 5, 2009 - 10:38 AMThe tool is really cool, but the spinner's fierceness was what made it great. And the skill level was way up there too. Great show. -

Tue, May 5, 2009 - 10:45 AMHer name is Mystique, she lives up in northern CA. She has a whole story/dragon character that goes along with the dance of the staff. I don't know if she is on tribe, but she's on facebook as Mystique Violet Madrone .

it just goes to show, it's not the size, it's the fierceness with which one uses one's tool.

Re: 8-Pointed Staff
Tue, May 5, 2009 - 11:16 AMTis true, her name is Mystikque and she is a native to the redwood empire, Humboldt county to be precise. I am actually in her artistic collaboration group the Night Shade Serenade and very well acquainted with her, we are actually going to see Wolverine tonight! So, if anyone wants to get a hold of her directly I would say either go through her facebook, search Mystikque Violet Madrone, or send a message my way and I'll vibe the contacts between you. Cheers and me mateys!

Re: 8-Pointed Staff
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 8:23 PMThanks everybody for the helpful info....her performances were stunning to me because they were more than just art, beauty and performance but they were demonstrations of non-physical energy. It was spectacular to see that. She appears to put 100% of what she's got into the performance (and the rest comes from somewhere else.) I see passionate dedication in her. Nivek, please thank her for me. Next time someone does a story/film on fire arts - Mistikque's gotta get included - if she's open to it.
