I want to thank all of you for making this a very important event to all.
To the vendors, thank you for being there and setting up a great little area for all the awesome toys, clothing, and other items.
To the teachers, I have missed taking any workshops while there, from what I heard from every one is that you did a stellar job. The shear depth and breadth of classes is amazing and highly inspiring.
To the kitchen staff, you folks are amazing. You cooked, fed, and cleaned up for hundreds of people a day with yummy, nourishing food.
To fire safety and fire watch, I tip my hat. You're continued sanity kept us safe from harm and the fires burning.
To the greeters' and gate crew, you are worthy of the, "Keeping the Party going for 96 Hours," award. If you ever bored/tired/cold/wet you could always head up the hill for where the real action was. CAR!
To the first aid / boo-boo booth crew, I hope we never have to use you in your fullest capacity. I'm always glad your there and hoping never have to call you in need.
To my Rangers, a huge thank you. We hated asking you to put out any campfires, but never had an issue pulling out vehicles from the mud on Sunday. We hope you enjoyed the 200 grilled cheese sandwiches on Saturday night. We found out the not only do the funny hats we wear keep the sun out of our eyes, but they help keep the rain off as well.
And to Noel and Sky, a big thanks for keeping it going. These two did a lot of things behind the scenes not only up until the event, but also a lot of unglamorous jobs: erecting huge tarp structures in the rain, unclogging toilets, and doing so while being every where at once.

Mon, May 4, 2009 - 5:55 PMThanks for all you do, Flint!
And thanks for the great weekend. I had a blast yankin' people out of the mud with the Big Stupid Truck and other such ranger joy.
I've got to say this was one of my favorite events to ranger. The focus and dedication the participants show to spinning was amazing. Looking forward to next year! -

Tue, May 5, 2009 - 3:12 PMFlint, it is an honor to work on your shift. I will carry the memories of this year's firedrums experience wherever the road may take me. Thank you for organizing the Ranger presence, for helping us connect to other participants, and for your support on the radio throughout the event. -

Tue, May 5, 2009 - 5:13 PMYeah, thanks Creech for pulling the Playa Snack ( www.flickr.com/photos/ins...7201419588/ ) out of yet another mud puddle.
Thanks to all the organizers for another kickass (if stressful and wet) event. More rain just means more socializing under shelter and/or moving to keep warm.
Thanks to all the instructors, it was truly humbling to take classes from such olympic caliber masters. Meast and MCP showed me how far I have to go with my contact, while Anna, Loki, and Howward inspired me to rededicate myself to combat staff and sword. Lily as always baffled me with her incredible foot and legwork, and all those poi, club, meteor, hoop, fan, and doubles instructors made my head spin with their incredible patterns and flow.
Thanks AGAIN, you guys rock!

Thank You from South Texas!!!!
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 8:52 AMThanks to everyone involved for making my virgin firedrums one to remember. I'm the guy with the grey striped beanie hat and long sleeve black shirt. I wore the same thing every day so some of you may recognize that description. Anyhow, other than getting completely lost on Thursday night and freezing my south texas ass off I had a great time and learned a lot. To the people that i met, i hope to see you again next year cause i will be back for sure. Elecktra, i apologize for not meeting my parking assignment at 12:00am on Friday, but i was completely lost in more than one way. However, i made up for it by picking up trash, helping with the tent, and making sure that the fires had wood. Please don't hold it against me. :) You are all beautiful people. -
